While pursuing her B.F.A in Theatre and Dance from Chapman University in Orange County, Eboni Nichols likely had no idea just how far her passion for dance and talent for choreography would take her. From the Staples Center as a member of the world renowned Los Angles Laker Girls, to stages in South Africa performing for Nelson Mandela, to arenas full of fans awaiting performances from superstars like Mary J. Blige and Jamie Foxx, Eboni has had the opportunity to tour the world working with some of today’s most talented singers and actors.
As a choreographer Eboni's work can be seen in various commercial campaigns airing nationally for products such as Svedka Vodka and COVERGIRL cosmetics. She recently prepared Faith Hill for the popular Sunday Night Football commercials. Whether it is creating the smooth moves of a sleek robot, or the refined steps associated with royalty like Queen Latifah, Eboni’s work is distinct, diverse and in high demand.
In addition to television commercials for McDonald’s, Washington Mutual and Butterfinger, Eboni's work can be seen in various films such as Sony Pictures’ “Jack and Jill” starring Adam Sandler, and in the Dreamworks comical figure skating homage, “Blades of Glory.” Eboni also has choreographed numerous music videos and live performances for artists such as Solange, and super producer The Dream. Eboni has worked extensively with British Grammy- winning sensation Estelle, creative directing both her U.S. tour and choreographing her video for the Top 100 single, “Freak.” Eboni's work has been featured on various entertainment programs such as “Good Morning America,” “Dancing With The Stars,” “American Idol,” “Late Show with David Letterman,” VH1's "Fashion Rocks" and the BET Awards, to name a few.
In 2011, Eboni made her musical choreographic debut with "Dear John Mayer" at the Open First Theatre in Los Angeles. The musical played to sold out crowds who found themselves falling in love with the moves performed by the “Mayerettes” as much as with the music and storyline itself. Eboni followed up her theatrical success by choreographing the Christmas musical "Both." Eboni has served as choreographer for weight loss sensation "Sensa" and movement director for American" X Factor"s first winner Melanie Amaro, and most recently choreographed Sara Bareilles's music video, "Brave."
